ShareX is a free and open source program that lets you capture or record any area or the entire area of your screen and share it with a single press of a key.

Step 2 – Launch ShareX
After the download is completed, launch the ShareX tool. Below is the screenshot of the tool’s interface.
Step 3 – Record Screen

OR
We can record screen using Hot Keys. To record screen using Hot Keys press
Ctrl + Shift + Print Screen
To stop recording again press the same hot key combination (Ctrl + Shift + Print Screen)
I personally prefer using the Hot Keys.
Step 4 – Area Selection
We can select the entire screen or a part of the screen to record. In this example I am recording a part of the screen, which is an google animation image.
Once we stop the recording, the gif image will be saved in the below file location
C:\Users\yourUserId\Documents\ShareX\Screenshots
Note: Because we are creating GIFs, so it recommended to keep the GIF length no more than 6 seconds. Although you can increase it.
